Alice can't hear me

Check your microphone

On the browser sidebar, click the icon and say anything. If the icon pulsates in the program window as you speak, the microphone is configured correctly.

If the icon doesn't pulsate, check if your microphone is working:

  1. Open the Windows Control panel.
  2. Click Sound.
  3. On the Recording tab, find the microphone you need.
  4. Right-click on it and select Set Default.
  5. Right-click on the microphone and select Properties.
  6. In the dialog box that opens, click the Levels tab. Both parameters should not be set to minimum or maximum at the same time.
  7. Go to the Advanced tab and make sure that the Enable additional audio features option is disabled.

For more information about setting up the microphone, see Windows help.

  2. Click Tools.
  3. In the Alice — virtual assistant section, disable voice activation (Set phrase for voice activation option).

  1. In the Yandex settings, open the My places tab.
  2. In the Home and Work fields, enter your home and work addresses.
Tell Alice your location
  1. Open your Yandex account in Yandex Browser.
  2. Wait 15 minutes until Alice connects to your account, and then ask Alice a question that requires information about your location, for example: “Where can I get a haircut near my home?”
