Zoom, font, and encoding


Zoom for all pages

To set the same zoom settings for all the pages:

  1. Click  → Settings.
  2. Click Websites.
  3. In the Page zoom section, select the desired level from the list.

Zoom for a specific page

To change the zoom on a page:

  1. Click .
  2. In the menu that opens, click a button:

    — zoom out

    — zoom in

    — full screen

You can also change the page zoom using keyboard shortcuts and gestures.

The zoom level you set is stored in Yandex Browser. The next time you open the page, it uses your selected zoom level.

To clear zoom settings for specific pages:

  1. Click  → Settings.
  2. Click Websites.
  3. In the Page zoom section, click Site advanced settings.
  4. Choose desired site.
  5. In the lower part of the window, click Remove.


To set the same font for all pages:

  1. Click  → Settings.
  2. Click Websites.
  3. Go to the Font size section and click Font settings.
  4. At the Fonts tab, specify what fonts and text size you want to use.

Fuzzy font

Disable ClearType

Disable ClearType antialiasing in Windows settings.

  1. Open the Windows Control panel.
  2. Go to System → Advanced system settings (in Windows 10, this section is called System and Security).
  3. On the Advanced tab, go to the Performance section and click Settings.
  4. On the Visual effects tab, deselect the Smooth edges of screen fonts option.
Turn off GDIPP

If you have GDIPP installed, disable it temporarily and check how fonts are displayed.

Text encoding

If the text on a page is not displayed correctly, use encoding auto detection, or try changing the page encoding manually.

  1. Click  → Advanced → More tools → Text encoding.
  2. Set the page encoding that you believe is correct, or select Automatically from the list.
Attention. Displaying text in uncommon languages requires installing additional fonts on your computer.
